A history of the old and new Bluffton Cemeteries is available via links to portions of a book entitled THE HISTORY OF THE BLUFFTON CEMETERY written by Alfred Hallmark. The images below act as links to the various histories of the Bluffton Cemetery.
By clicking the image below and to the left, you will be directed to a history of the Old Bluffton Cemetery, which was covered by the waters of Lake Buchanan in 1937. This location has only been accessible about 4 to 5 times since the lake was filled. This only occurs when the level of the lake diminishes due to dry weather conditions.
By clicking the image below and to the center, you will be directed to a history of the building of the New Bluffton Cemetery, and the relocation of graves that were located in the basin of Lake Buchanan.
Finally, by clicking the image below and to the right, you will be directed to a history of the New Bluffton Cemetery, now simply known as the Bluffton Cemetery, since 1937. -- This option is not ready yet.
